Ministry of Media Organizes Media Oasis Alongside World Economic Forum Special Meeting
The Ministry of Media is organizing the sixth edition of Media Oasis in VIA Riyadh district from April 28th to 29th. This immersive event is in conjunction with the Saudi capital's hosting of the World Economic Forum Special Meeting.
Media Oasis emerges as one of the Ministry's trailblazing initiatives, deftly harnessing cutting-edge technology to cultivate an atmosphere ripe for creativity, innovation, and journalistic excellence. Its overarching goal is to provide a fertile ground for media outlets to deliver captivating local and global coverage of the Kingdom's major events and national milestones.
Spanning 1,500 square meters, this multimedia space seamlessly interweaves an array of Saudi Arabia's grandest national projects within the Vision Exhibition. The ensemble of partners includes the Ministry of Sport, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the Premium Residency Center, Diriyah Company, ROSHN Company, Zain KSA as the digital partner, and the General Authority of Media Regulation as the media partner.
The Oasis itself comprises four distinct zones - the Saudi Hospitality Zone, Oasis Valley, the Vision Exhibition, and the Instant Photography Zone - each offering an immersive and multisensory experience. The Ministry aims to provide visiting officials and media luminaries with an unparalleled opportunity to explore the nation's flagship initiatives. Leveraging state-of-the-art technologies and interactive models, attendees can delve deep into these projects, gaining unrivaled insights and forging direct connections with subject matter experts to address their inquiries.
Media Oasis braces itself to welcome over 700 officials from regional and international nations partaking in the WEF Special Meeting, along with over 150 media outlets and journalists from across the globe. Notably, this sixth edition of the Media Oasis heralds a fresh chapter, following a quintet of successful iterations in 2023 that spanned three distinct nations, drawing both local and international attendance.
The inaugural edition coincided with the 32nd Arab Summit in Jeddah on May 18th and 19th, while the second dovetailed with the 2023 Hajj Season from June 20th to 22nd. The third edition accompanied the G20 Leaders' Summit in New Delhi and H.R.H. the Crown Prince's official visit to the Republic of India from September 9th to 11th. Riyadh itself hosted the fourth edition in tandem with the Saudi-African Summit, the Arab Extraordinary Summit, and the Extraordinary Islamic Summit from November 9th to 11th. Last but not least, the penultimate chapter unfolded in Paris from November 26th to 28th, coinciding with Riyadh's selection to host the Expo 2030.
