Minister of Media Launches “Saudipedia” at the Saudi Media Forum

His Excellency Minister of Media Salman Al-Dosary launched the digital platform for the Saudi encyclopedia “Saudipedia” (saudipedia.com), as part of the activities of the Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX), which accompanied the Saudi Media Forum from Feb. 19 till Feb. 21, 2024. H.E. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Alswaha and a number of officials from Arab and international media outlets were in attendance.

The Saudi encyclopedia is among the initiatives of the Human Capability Development Program – one of the programs to achieve Saudi Vision 2030 – and aims to be a knowledge reference about the Kingdom. It will contribute to promoting and disseminating reliable information in an encyclopedic style, through a platform created according to best practices to become the first reference for Saudi information in several languages.

“Today we lay the first building blocks of the Saudi encyclopedia ‘Saudipedia’, to accelerate the pace towards the pillars of the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, to build a vibrant society proud of its extended history and heritage, its strong and firmly established roots, and its unique cultural identity,” commented the Media Minster.

“Saudipedia competes to be the primary source of the Saudi narrative to the world about the leadership, people, history, geography and culture of the Kingdom, through a multilingual platform starting with Arabic,” he continued.

Saudipedia provides encyclopedic content that reflects the reality of the Kingdom from all cultural, social, economic, political, geographical, and historical aspects, making the platform an authentic source of encyclopedic knowledge from which regional, Arab, and international media and knowledge platforms derive their content about Saudi affairs.

Saudipedia publishes its textual content supported by multimedia, and updates it periodically to keep pace with the diverse richness of the Kingdom.

Saudipedia is present on social media platforms through its official accounts on X (formerly known as Twitter) (@SaudipediaAR) and Instagram (@Saudipediaar).
