Saudi Documentary "Horizon" Wins Hermes Creative Platinum Award

 

The Saudi documentary film Horizon has won the renowned international Hermes Creative Awards for its promotional launch campaign, after facing stiff competition from numerous international works. 

The film, produced by the KONOZ initiative at the Center for Government Communication of the Ministry of Media, showcases a diverse array of wildlife, such as the Arabian oryx, seahorses, dolphins, Arabian gazelles, and sand gazelles. The film highlights the Kingdom's rich biodiversity, which encompasses over 10,000 species, each uniquely adapted to its environment.

The filming of the documentary took more than 200 days, involving a specialized team of 50 individuals who traveled over 4,700 km to film at 28 different locations, with the participation of more than 13 Saudi researchers specialized in wildlife.

Since its inception 28 years ago, the Hermes Creative Awards have received over 325,000 entries from more than 135 countries. It’s an American international award administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), which oversees numerous international competitions for marketing and communication professionals, advertising specialists, and visual, audio, and print campaigns.

The Hermes Creative Awards are among the oldest and largest international creative competitions in the world, annually honoring the most outstanding entries from individuals, media conglomerates, and organizations for their excellence in marketing, creativity, communication, advertising, and influence.

The AMCP was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Dallas, USA. It comprises thousands of professionals in the fields of marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, digital specialists, and website developers. Since its establishment, the organization has served as a means to honor outstanding achievements and service in the field of communication by a group of professionals who have participated in numerous American and international business organization competitions.

KONOZ is one of the initiatives of the Human Capability Development Program, which falls under the programs aimed at achieving Saudi Vision 2030. It aims to visually document the treasures that the Kingdom possesses and contribute to creating an artistic renaissance in the field of artistic production. The initiative has presented several documentary works, such as "Alaa Had Sawa’a," "Chapter 295," "Seagull of Arabia," "What Saudis Eat," "Saudi Atlas," and others.

Horizon aims to raise awareness of the Kingdom's environmental diversity, introduce its unique geographical regions, highlight the efforts made to protect wildlife and preserve rare species, and showcase the Kingdom's diverse treasures to the world by displaying its captivating nature, rich with diverse flora and fauna, and raise awareness of the richness of the Saudi land.

The Kingdom prioritizes the environmental sector as one of the targets of Vision 2030, emphasizing the preservation of wildlife and enacting strict laws for its protection under the supervision of the National Center for Wildlife.
