Practice Regulations of Media Activities

Form (1)

Regulations for the printing sector

-       Not printing anything that conflicts with Article 9 of the Printing and Publication Law.

-       Not printing any governmental publication unless officially authorized by the relevant authority.

-       Not printing any book, brochure, flyer, leaflet or any publication in any language without obtaining necessary clearance from the Ministry of Media.

-       Not printing product boxes, labels, or trademarks unless a permit from relevant authorities and authorization from the concerned entity were obtained.

-       Not printing any material that misleads or deceives consumers.

-       Not printing advertisements for any medical product or treatment program provided by a medical institution unless approved by the relevant authority (Saudi Food and Drug Authority).

-       Not printing any commercial adverts that violate the terms and conditions for publishing advertisements stipulated in Articles 44-74-75-76-77.

-       Not printing publications, correspondences, documents, or invoices to institutions and companies unless authorized by the concerned entity.

-       Not printing any advertising brochures or banners about discounts, competitions or prizes without obtaining a license from the Ministry of Commerce or a Chamber of Commerce.

-       Not printing donation vouchers unless an official letter from the relevant authority was obtained.

-       Not printing covers for CDs containing religious or musical works, or computer programs of all kinds unless a clearance from relevant authorities and authorization from the concerned entity were obtained.

-   Disposing of all waste material resulting from printing and cutting in the establishment in a timely manner, and not retaining any of it.

Regulations for the copying and photocopying services sector

-       Not copying anything that conflicts with Article 9 of the Printing and Publication Law.

-       Not copying any government publication unless officially authorized by the concerned entity.

-       Not using photocopiers to conduct processes belonging to the printing sector-.

-       Not copying books and texts or parts thereof except in accordance with the copyright protection law.

-       Not preparing, selling or copying curriculum summaries or oral lectures.

-       Not preparing research papers, letters, abstracts, or anything else for any purpose whatsoever, to be sold individuals.

-   Sections dedicated to copying, packaging and printing devices must be unobscured, and separated only by glass dividers.

Regulations for the advertising sector

-       Not advertising anything that conflicts with Article 9 of the Printing and Publication Law.

-       Not advertising any commercial adverts that violate the terms and conditions for publishing advertisements stipulated in Articles 44-74-75-76-77 of the executive regulations within the Printing and Publication Law.

-       Not advertising any medical product or treatment program provided by a medical institution unless approved by the relevant authority (Saudi Food and Drug Authority).

-       Not advertising any material that misleads or deceives consumers.

-       Not advertising any brochures or banners about discounts, competitions or prizes without obtaining a license from the Ministry of Commerce or a Chamber of Commerce.

Regulations for the photography sector

-       Not photographing or developing any images that conflict with Article 9 of the Printing and Publication Law

-       Photographers of parties or events must be Saudi citizens who obtained valid permits from the Ministry.

-       Photography activities should follow a written contract between the venue and event host.

-       Not dealing with itinerant photographers.

-       Not photographing people who do not want to be photographed during events.

-       Not publicly displaying personal photos in a venue without written consent from those seen in them.

-   Giving the assets of photos to their respective holders and not keeping them.
